Got a similar text.  I DID call ther number thinking it might be evidence of someone trying to open an account in my name.  The robo \"receptionist\" indicated that it was a card verification or activation call and requested that I enter my 16 digit credit or debit card number.  Unless First Savings has taken over a company that I already have a card with, this could be a scam text issued in hope that I\'ll enter an existing card number issued by some other bonafide card issuer so it can capture the data,  That\'s total speculation on my part and I enetered nothing. I also sent a text reply advising teh sender that my number is registered with the Fed do-not-call registry and that this means, do not text either.  I Googled Firts Savings Online and found a website that APPEARS to be that of a legitimate business operating in Bucks County, PA.  I intend to call the contact info on the site in an effort to ensure that nobody has applied for a card in my name.  I will NOT provide SS info but will probably have to disclose my cell number in order for them to answer my inquiry.  I don\'t feel comfortable just ignoring the text altogether.  I will also insist that theyu not contact me again in future.

They threaten me via voicemail. They do not identify the company they are with and are very rude. Harassing phone calls

  4. Tyrone says:

They called me yesterday and I told them I was busy. Today I got the call again but I read about the scam. So I gave them a prepaid card with 0 balance which I never use. The gave a confirmation number. And asked me to call their \"officer\" at 202 6576496. The femal with foreign accent (sounded afrikan) went over my card number and info and then transferred my call to her \"boss\". He told me I needed to pay 200 plus dolars for transction fees (wire transfersdeposits cost about 30 and electronic deposits are free) the man said the 200 dlls needed to be paid from another account or my bank account. I replied that I was soo sad because I did not have a penny. They hung up on me. I just wanted to see how far this scam woud go. I hope people are aware of this garbage prying into our info. I wonder how thwy get our info. Somebody must be in te middle providing it or maybe they just go thru sites like Ceckmateand Intellius. I thing all of those sites should be banned.  The US govt should crack down on this fraudalent phone numbers. And yes the 516 number has a voicemail box whic is full. I asked the man if he was calling from a cell he was vry unhappy his names was Erik Watson. Yah..mine is sherlock holmes.
